18TH CENTURY SCOTTISH MAHOGANY EIGHT DAY LONG CASE CLOCK marked: George Brown (of Edinburgh), the case
providing hood with pierced broken swan neck pediment above arched aperture, flanked by four spirally turned gilt metal mounted, Corinthian columns, and with oval side windows, ogee pointed arch panelled door to the waist, flanked by similar, spirally turned pillars with yellow metal, Corinthian column mounts, on a plain panelled base with bracket feet. Arched brass face with gilt metal mask spandrels marked: George Brown to the arch and having Roman chapter ring with seconds and date dials, eight day two train movement striking on one bell. The face 48cm x 34cm. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT). Condition: The case a little dry, dusty and grubby but appearing complete, face in good condition, no apparent weights or pendulum.
