An unusual butterfly brooch each wing set with real butterfly wings encased in gold, the thorax set with four diamonds and green emerald set eyes; stamped to reverse Brevette Dans Tous Les Pays retailed by Mappin Brothers, 220 Regent Street. (with original box).
A George III mahogany cabinet on chest, the two sections each with carrying handles to the side, the upper part with panelled doors enclosing a variety of drawers, a number of which have their original gilding to the rocaille scrolling handles, the base with three long drawers on bracket feet (in need of restoration), 44" wide x 71 1/2" high.
A late 19th Century Continental mantel clock, the decorative gilt case with porcelain panels, surmounted by an urn with scrolling supports to the side, the porcelain dial painted centrally with a river scene and with Roman numerals, the movement striking on a bell, 20" high overall, under a cracked glass dome.
Property of a Lady A Chinese blue & white Ming style bottle vase, underglaze six character seal mark of Qianlong (1736-95) and of the period, decorated with a band of floral scrolls, above a petal lappet band, with a lotus scroll band above a ruyi head band, the neck with plaintain leaf decoration, further ruyi band and cresting wave motifs, 14in. (36cms) high. Provenance The Shafto family, Beamish Hall, County Durham, thence by descent. An old label found inside the vase reads: " Ta-Ching Kien - Long Nan tiki (1736 1796) Chinese".
CASED PAIR OF PIKE: Fine pair of preserved Pike by J. Cooper of London mounted in bow front gilt lined case 45" x24" x 10". Blue backboard, fully reeded over gravel base, gilt text on 2 lines reads, "Pike, Caught by Mr Frank Poole at Wormington Ford Mere, Dec 3rd, 1899, Weight 12lbs and 13 lbs". Illus.

Height 24.5cm Exhibited: Moot Hall, Aldeburgh, 19th-28th June 1959.Provenance: Acquired from Roland, Browse & Delbanco, Cork Street, London, October 1959 and descended in the same family to the present day (original receipt sold with bronze).

PROVENANCE: Vicarage Cottage Gallery, North Shields, Contemporary Scottish Painting, October, 1991. This group exhibition at The Vicarage Cottage Gallery in 1991, is believed to have been Vettriano's first such participation outside his native Scotland. His first one-man exhibition, in Edinburgh in 1992, was followed by another at the Corrymella Scott Gallery, Newcastle, and the Catto Gallery, London, in 1993; since when he has risen to become one of the most popular living artists in Britain.
